As the recipient of many awards including the J. I was fortunate in having a carpenter father, so he designed and built a swing set himself. It was a big event for us an all our friends.
The kids in the neighborhood really liked our swingset and tower. We had the opportunity to invent all sorts of games and play on it for hours at a time. The tower was used to play house, spaceship, as a base for tag, etc. It was a great pleasure to eat our lunch up there sometimes and go up there to read our books.
One of the happiest memories I can talk about is the warm summer evening we took our ice-cream cones up on the tower and ate them while watching the sunset. Then daddy got home from work and joined us on the tower. We all talked and giggled for a long time and two of the three kids fell asleep up there. I hope that memory stays with each one of them forever.
