The Magic of a Biltmore Christmas - and a Great Place to Stay during Your Visit
Visitors to the Asheville, North Carolina, area during the holidays have one of the best opportunities anywhere to take part in a seasonal celebration like no other - Christmas in America’s largest home on the wondrous Biltmore Estate.
Through January 4, daytime visitors can tour the famous Vanderbilt mansion adorned with dozens of Christmas trees and hundreds of poinsettia plants, bows and wreaths. The evergreen garland measures in miles, not feet. Ornaments, tinsel and beading are inspired by the décor the Vanderbilt family used in 1895, the year of the first Christmas at Biltmore. And in keeping with the tradition established on that first Biltmore Christmas, at 35-foot Fraser fir stands in the Banquet Hall as the focal point of the celebration.
Daytime admission includes access to the Biltmore House, Gardens, Winery and River Bend Farm along with shopping, dining on the Estate and free parking.
The Estate also offers Candlelight Christmas Evenings at Biltmore through January 3. These candlelight visits to the Biltmore House treat guests to live music, storytellers, ballet dancers and marionettes. The fireplaces roar and the House sparkles with thousands of fanciful ornaments. And this year, a new illuminated forest lights up the Biltmore House’s breathtaking front lawn.
Candlelight tickets include evening admission to Biltmore House and daytime access to the Gardens, Winery, Riverbend Farm, shopping and restaurants on the Estate plus free parking. A Candlelight Plus package adds daytime admission to the House.
Hours and pricing for daytime and evening visits are listed on www.biltmore.com.
