Courtney Sale Ross graduated with an honorary doctoral degree in 1991 at Skidmore College. She is the widow of Steven J. Ross, former Chairman and CEO of Time Warner.
For over 16 years now, Courtney Ross has been leading the implementation of innovative changes in education.
Together with her the late husband, Ross built the originative Ross School in 1991. The school implemented some of the most advanced methods in K-12 education, eventually implementing progressive ideals of world leadership and technological integration.
Aside from the school, Courtney Sale Ross also heads the Ross Institute, founded in 1996; and the Ross Global Academy, founded in 2006. Running three separate non-profit academic institutions, the goal has always been the same for Courtney, to bring attention to and encourage cultural understanding and globalization.
Courtney Sale Ross shares her dream of one day sharing to millions around the globe everything there is to learn at the Ross School. She intends to do this by helping shape some of the world’s best minds.
To further help inculcate the value of education to students, she set up the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund, which aims to extend tuition aid to at least half of the student body.
In addition to her work in these schools, Courtney has also contributed to major universities across the US, including her alma mater Skidmore College, New York University, the University of Southern California, and Harvard University.
Aside from her educational endeavors, Ross is also faithful in extending her assistance to the People’s Republic of China by contributing to museums catering to education and research.
