Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains might be considered as ERP platform, ready for customization and integration. Microsoft Business Solutions partner typically does one of the two things: specializes in the industry (in this case it goes for the nation-wide clientele) or specializes in the local or regional market. In this small article we’ll consider the specifics of the services industry and how they could be realized in Microsoft Great Plains
Industry Specifics:
• Very complex pricing formulas. In services you sell something that people can not touch and so you have to adjust your pricing for each market segment/customer class or for each individual customer. You can do it, because the nature of service is different from the nature of manufactured goods. Naturally these business relationship with your customers are rooted in the ability of the business owner or manager to negotiate the price and use complex promotions models
• Service Uniqueness. Opposite to general products wholesale or retail - service business has very unique market niche and the way of serving its clients. The service system is outside of the scope here, however it alters the standard way of ERP implementing. The examples could be - the way you are handling customer complaints via discounting, price adjustments and issuing credit memos
• Customer Self-Service. This is when customer would like to see order execution with the connection to payment info. Typically this should be enabled over the web or extranet security realm
Highlights for Great Plains implementation:
• Sales Order Processing (SOP). This module is the most popular connection point for eCommerce developers - the same should be said about service industry. In the case of services - you should decide if you would like SOP be the place where your Sales Orders are originated - or just where they should be finally recorded after processing in your custom application
• eConnect. This tool should be considered as the way to move your very unique custom sales logic into Microsoft Great Plains - if you decide to stick to outside customization (like eCommerce for example). eConnect was specially developed and designed for eCommerce developers
• Great Plains Dexterity customization. Dexterity is programming language of Great Plains. It allows you to use seamless integration with GP screens and reports plus it works in the GP security realm. Dexterity customization might be needs for SOP and Inventory Control modules

If you take a trip around the world, one of the first things you’ll notice is how vastly food varies from culture to culture. Each culture’s menu is a poem that has been writing itself since the beginning of that society.
Over thousands of years, people in different parts of the world have developed specific dietary needs as an adaptation mechanism due to climate, geography, vegetation, animals and other naturally occurring food supplies.
Which takes us to the here and now.
Though many of us are American, we all have ancestral diets that are far older than this country. Let’s take into account that many of us are several ancestries rolled into one. Our bodies today have many of the same nutritional requirements that our ancestors’ bodies did centuries ago, though we most likely eat nothing like our ancestors.
This may explain why there are so many contradictions in the nutrition world. Why the same nutritional protocol that enables one person to lead a healthy, robust life can be a medical disaster for another. Why your co-worker can eat steak virtually every day and not have high cholesterol while just a few ounces a week can send yours through the roof.
The answer is as simple as it is complicated: we are all crafted differently based on our hereditary influences. Because we are all scattered pieces of the world, we are each as biochemically unique as a thumbprint. Our bodies utilize foods and nutrients very differently based on these factors:
Hereditary/Genes … As a result of evolution and socialization, our genetic profiles differ. Depending upon your origin, there will be differences in physical as well as biological characteristics.
Age … Our bodies require different types and amounts of nutrients as we progress from infant to senior. Long chain omega 3 fatty acids, Calcium and Vitamin D are just a few of the additional nutrients seniors require.
Geography … For instance, if you live in NYC with pollution, noise and stress, you may need more antioxidants, adrenal support nutrients and B vitamins to counteract that lifestyle. If you live in Alaska or the Northern parts of Europe and Asia, you may need more Omega 3 long chain fatty acids and more lutein because of the blinding winter sun and the long periods of darkness, which often causes depression.
Personality Type … Believe it or not, Type A personalities need more adrenal support nutrients such as tyrosine and vitamin B’s more than Type B personalities.
Vocation … What we do for a living will have an effect on the nutrients our body needs to stay healthy. An office worker may require more vitamin D because of decreased sun light than a person that is outside directing traffic all day. Both will require additional antioxidants due to the poor quality of air they both breathe.
Based on the fast and polluted life we live today, it’s highly unlikely that we’re getting all the nutrients that we need to satisfy our genetic codes let alone furnish our bodies with all the micro and macro nutrients required for good health. It makes “wellness sense” to supplement the diet with macro/micronutrients. When selecting the supplement for you, do your homework. Why take a supplement if it isn’t really giving you what you need?

These scholarships are different from a student loan in that the cash is a grant, so it doesn’t have to be paid back. While exploring methods to fund your degree, investigate the many more different choices, such as scholarships specifically for southpaw scholars.
Please inspect our one of a kind page for scholarship opportunities for information technology students suggestions
Funding for Lefthanders
It may seem a little strange to offer a bursary dependent on being left-handed, however it’s worth considering these facts: Bill Gates is a lefty, so is the president of the United States, Barack Obama. Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Bob Dylan also J.F. Kennedy were also left-handed. Figures propose 11% of the population are left-handed. Frequently thought to be much more talented artistically and more intelligent, left-handers have often suffered from discrimination in the past. Stigmatization is now a thing of the past, left-handers are no longer thought of as different, and may have many qualities associated with the famous individuals noted previously.
There are many funds accessible specifically for left handed scholars when you know where to search. The Frederick and Mary F. Beckley Scholarship for a thousand dollars is currently available at Juniata College in Huntington, PA. For scholars of Juniata College and it was launched in the 1970’s, this school scholarship aids many students in their quest for advanced education.
When you are looking for school scholarships, do be mindful that some of them have prerequisites and restrictions. In a few cases certain grades can be necessary or certain monetary requirements must be satisfied. Do apply for as many college scholarships as possible to step-up your probabilities of finishing with a minimal level of debt. Clubs, hobby related groups and community organisations can be a source of grants. Left-handed grants are only an illustration; funding is even available if you’re the child of a member of the military or suffer from a disability, for instance. You may need to invest some time researching college funding, however the return can be sizable. Any debt generated by a college education may be reduced by such funds used in conjunction a student loan. Ensure you enquire into every last opportunity. The above-mentioned funding is not the only choice - put together a list of your local affiliations and make use of every accessible resource. If you guess you might be suitable, then apply, keeping any costs to a an absolute minimum, also you will probably be facing improved prospects when you finish college.

Phishing is the act of some individual sending an email to a user in an attempt to scam the user to release personal information. Is it easy to determine if it’s a scam? Sometimes - but not always. I hope to give you enough examples and information to help you to safeguard yourself from these unsavory individuals.
In addition, sometimes the email is sent to malicious software so as to render your computer helpless. Thus, it is important that you do not click on the link they provide, because that is the trigger that will load the software to your system.
EXAMPLES OF PHISHING
You receive hundreds of emails in your mailbox, but one email catches your eye - it directs you to a website, requesting that you need to update your personal information. It requests such personal information as:
passwords
credit card numbers
social security number
bank account numbers
“It appears to be legitimate”, you say to yourself. And you also notice that the emails are from companies that you have been doing business with for a while. Warning: The website could be bogus.
Here are several examples of phishing in action.
1. E-mails stating they are from E-bay and they feel that your account may have been compromised and would like you to verify your information with they so conveniently supply. DO NOT click on it.
2. E-mails from Paypal or your bank asking that you verify your information because they feel that your account has been compromised, or heaven forbid, suspended. Same scenario, different company. DO NOT click on the link.
3. E-mail that states that an unauthorized transaction has occurred on your account. Please click the link below and confirm your identity. DO NOT.
4. Here’s a work at home scam - We have seen your resume on Monster and feel you would fit our position. If you are interested, please go to our website, look over the experience required and submit your resume if you have this background. Website is professional looking, offer looks good - but it could be a scam.
WHAT ARE THEY AFTER
In the above examples they are after information about you, be it passwords, credit cards, social security numbers, anything that can identify you - and that which they can use to profit from you.
The job email is used to verify that the email address is a true blue, active email address. What do they do with this info - they sell these accounts to spammers for good money. They need to verify your email addressbecause if the spammers come up empty - this person’s business is dead.
HOW TO VERIFY SAFELY
1. If they want you to verify your account, do not cut and paste, or use the link they provide in the email. Close your Internet session, open a new session and enter the site that you have on record to verify.
2. Emails requesting resumes - Verify their account before you send your resume. When verifying - these red flags should be considered:
1) If they are hesitant to provide a phone number - might be a scam. 2) If their business address is not verifiable -might be a scam. 3) If the website is new - might be a scam. 4) If they use a large company’s nameand that company never heard of them - might be a scam.
5) Again, verify this information before you send your resume.
WAYS TO PROTECT YOURSELF
Here are some quick tips to protect you and your computer system.
1. Use anti-virus software and a firewall - keep them up to date.
2. If you have a broadband connection make sure you have a firewall in place.
3. Don’t email personal or financial information.
4. Before providing personal information - search to see if the site is secure - look for a lock icon. However, remember not all phishers are stupid - in fact, they could be computer savvy enough to forge security icons. Thus, look for a site whose link looks like this:
https://www.somename.com — this shows that it is a secure site.
5. Coupons from respected companies - Verify that it is a true-blue coupon from the company - I had one coupon sent to my email address from what I thought was Staples. Verified it with Staples - not a coupon honored by Staples. When on the Internet - if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it still may not be a duck!
6. When making transactions on the Internet - be it online banking, Paypal, Internet Gold, etc. - complete your transaction, log out of the website, and close out of your Internet Explorerand then continue with a new session of Internet Explorer.
WHERE TO FORWARD SPAM THAT IS PHISHNG
If you encounter spam that is phishing, or are a victim of a phishing scam, you can forward the information to spam@uce.gov and to the company, bank or organization that the email may have stated they are from. In many cases, the other organizations have information on their website where you can report the attempted scam.
In addition, if you have been scammed, and you wish to file a complaint - go to ftc.gov.
To conclude, no one is immune to spam or a scam. But try to be ever vigilant and do your due diligence with anything you do on the Internet. But being human is a scammer’s hope - they know that most will ignore the bait, but some will be tempted. So, if you so humanly slip, and succumb to a phishing scam, you can report them to ftc.gov.

Secret Tips For Negotiating Your Credit Card Debt
Most individuals believe that it is unattainable for a individual to negotiate their credit card debt with a credit card company because the company is not interested in working out a deal with the people that own their credit cards. The truth is that some of these credit card companies may be prepared to talk to you and make out some kind of debt guidance program for your debt because they would rather recover some of the money that you owe to them easily instead of having to pay somebody to continuously contact you about the debt and possibly not get any payments from you at all. There are a number of unique things you should hold in mind when attempting to negotiate your credit card debt and keeping these things in mind may service you a great deal in your pursuits.
The first thing that you need to keep in mind when trying to negotiate your credit card debt is to be honest about your circumstance when you are talking to the representative of the company you desire to negotiate with. You would be astonished at how easygoing some companies can be when a individual has a legitimate hardship, such as the loss of a job, the loss of a spouse, or are medically unable to work for a period of time. Many credit card companies are now offering a type of credit card insurance to be able to suspend your payments for a period of time if any of these circumstances take place and interrupt your ability to make your payments because they have found that many of their customers go through these situations once in a while.
Another thing to remember when negotiating your credit card debt is to be sure that you are addressing with the proper personel that has the authorization to help you. A lot of times you may be speaking to a person who does not have the authority to negotiate your debt situation. Sometimes in this case they try to differ you from reaching your goal by saying they can’t service you. Insist on speaking with someone in the company that can aid you, if neccesary try and find a local branch where you can speak to somebody in person.
Always remember to be polite and respectful when talking to your credit card company about negotiating your debt. It may be hard at times, but getting angry at them will only make things worse. Being respectful to those attempting to help you is very essential for seeing any results. Remember, you want these people to help lower your debt, not make things harder for you.

Are you worried yet about your health? Are you anxious about your heart, or about the possibility of contracting cancer? If so, you are not alone, and your concerns are quite valid. Cancer and heart disease are today’s major killers, and as of now, we are yet to find a safe and effective drug, that can prevent these diseases. Some will argue that taking one or two aspirins a day can reduce the risk of heart disease, and it saddens me to see how many people are doing this, because I know the problems brought by aspirin over use, if these people knew about the long term damage caused by this drug, they would think twice, before popping another one into their mouths. Maybe they would give up that harmful habit if they learn that there is a better answer to preventing these and other diseases. What is the answer? The herb called Garlic, but don’t just take my word, even scientists are supporting its properties.
A lot of people use garlic in cooking without knowing that this herb has quite a few medicinal uses. Although Garlic has been around for several thousands of years, its origins are quite obscure. It is thought to have come from Russia making its way to the Mediterranean countries. Garlic was known to be used in the diets of ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks.
Garlic is known to aid digestion, ward off colds, infection, expel worms, ease chest congestion, help alleviate rheumatism and cleanse the intestines. In World War I, garlic juice was used on the sterile bandages to prevent infection. Garlic has also been known to help hardening of the arteries, sinus problems, skin complexion, and hay fever if taken in capsule form on a regular basis.
This herb has been study, and the results are amazing, garlic contains a large number of sulphur compounds. One of these compounds is diallyl disulphide, which has remarkable anti-cancer properties. This compound prevents two early stages of carcinogenesis, initiation and promotion, from developing. The anti-initiator activity is the result of two complementary mechanisms:
- diallyl disulphide prevents certain carcinogenic substances from being activated
- moreover, this molecule stimulates enzymes capable of neutralising the activity of carcinogenic substances
These two mechanisms reduce the toxicity of carcinogens to cell DNA. Diallyl disulphide is metabolised in the liver into an oxide compound that may be behind the effects described.
In both cases, these studies have dealt with cancer prevention in rat liver, but the mechanisms brought to light give reason to believe that their scope is much wider: effects on other cancers, potential extrapolation to humans.
As fruit and vegetables are rich in minor constituents, nutritionists have increasingly shown an interest in their role in the prevention of cancers, cardiovascular diseases and inflammatory diseases over the last decade.
One the most interesting stories of the properties of garlic, came to me from South Africa, Professor Sid Cywes, a former paediatric surgeon at University of Cape Town was having trouble hybridizing his orchids seeds. The trouble was a fungal infection in his culture medium. Mr Peter De Wet, a chief research technologist and Prof Cywes hatched a plan that entailed a dose of garlic. To their astonishment administering garlic to their orchid culture medium killed the mould. They then went on to test garlic’s ability to combat the yeast Candida. At that time one of Prof Cywe’s patients, a baby at the Red Cross Hospital had a serious Candida infection down the entire length of its oesophagus and gastro-intestinal tract. A garlic solution added to the baby’s milk cured the child within 48 hours.
Since then about thirty very sick infants, where broad spectrum antibiotics failed to bring improvement, have been given fresh allicin enterally. The allicin treatment brought about a significant success. However, this was not a controlled clinical study.
One of the active ingredients in garlic is a compound called allicin. On crushing fresh garlic, an enzyme called alliinase is released which rapidly converts the odorless compound alliin into allicin bearing the typical odor of garlic. Allicin is highly unstable and rapidly converts to other sulfur-compounds such as ajoene. It is however allicin and ajoene which have been the main subject of research. These compounds block the enzymes which are necessary for metabolism of the micro-organisms. They have been shown to inhibit the growth of more than 23 organisms. A very interesting point is that no resistance to allicin has been found up to date.
Garlic and its compounds, have been tested against the bacteria Helicobacter pylori and it had tremendous success. Allicin has also been shown to inhibit Campylobacter- universally recognized as the most common cause of gastro-enteritis in very young children of low-income families. These findings are of much interest as bacteria including Helicobacter and Campylobacter are becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics.
I just hope that more people are exposed to this information, so they can make a wiser decision when it comes to preventing diseases like the ones we discussed here. Please send this article to your friends and loved ones, share with them the information you have, help them keep their health.
Until next time,

Here’s something you probably don’t know. The fruit and vegetables you eat today are not as nutritious as the food from fifty years ago.
Who says so? The USDA. When you compare the Food Composition Tables from the 1950 Agriculture Handbook with the latest version, you’ll see the shocking truth.
In fact, that is exactly what researchers Donald Davis, Melvin Epp, and Hugh Riordan did. They compared the data for 43 garden crops. They found that the group of vegetables showed “statistical reliable declines” for many nutrients.
There was less riboflavin, protein, iron, vitamin C, Vitamin A, calcium, potassium, and magnesium, and other nutrients. In some cases the nutrient drop was more than 50%.
The cause of these nutrient losses may have been from changes in the vegetable varieties, according to the researchers. It seems that the plant breeders are more interested in vegetables that ship well and look good on store shelves. Appearance is everything when it comes to creating profits. Nutrition is a secondary consideration.
Not mentioned was the probable lack of trace plant nutrients in soil that has been mined by unsustainable farming practices over the years. This is what the organic farming people have been saying for years.
The nutrition shortage in almost all people is made even worse by our food choices. Instant, prepackaged, processed foods supply refined carbohydrates, fats, and proteins and little else. It’s a lot like the farming practices that feed the crops with high nitrogen chemical fertilizers, potassium, and phosphorus and nothing else.
We end up eating bloated, unhealthy, nutrient lacking foods that give us bloated, unhealthy bodies. Could this be the real cause of the growing obesity problem around the world? We’re all over-stuffing ourselves trying to get the nutrition our body’s intelligence knows we need to be healthy.

Are you concerned about taking care of your body before and after strenuous
activities or workouts? Do you try to avoid supplements that contain additives and possible side effects?
If you are interested in better health and improved physical fitness you have
surely heard that bodybuilders and other athletes are turning to a simple, natural
supplement called whey protein.
WHY DO ATHLETES USE WHEY PROTEIN?
Protein levels are depleted through exercise. Muscles require amino acids to
prevent deterioration, give endurance and build mass. Proteins supply these amino
acids to the muscles which is why athletes use whey protein.
WHAT IS WHEY PROTEIN?
Commercial whey protein comes from cow’s milk. Whey is the by-product of
making cheese and was usually thrown away as a waste product. Now researchers
know that whey protein is high quality, natural protein that is rich with amino acids
essential for good health and muscle building. It is naturally found in mother’s milk
and also used in baby formula. It is being considered for use as a fortifier of grain
products because of its considerable health benefits and bland flavor.
Although protein is also found in other foods such as meat, soy and vegetables,
whey protein is proven to have the highest absorption (digestion) levels in
comparison to all others.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER USING WHEY PROTEIN?
Whey protein has many health benefits including immune support, bone health,
sports health, weight management and overall well being.
Because amino acids are ‘building blocks’ for the human body it is sometimes
used by patients to speed up the healing of wounds or burns.
The high quality protein that comes from whey makes it a recommended choice
for those who need optimal benefits from restricted diets including diabetics, those
on weight management diets and even ill patients not able to consume enough
protein in their diet to assist with healing.
CAN WHEY PROTEIN BE DANGEROUS?
Whey protein is a food and so it does not have have the risks associated with
other supplements. That said, too much of anything carries risks. Extremely high
use of whey protein can overload the liver which can cause serious problems.
Moderation is always recommended.
If you are lactose intolerant you might try whey protein isolate which has less
than 1% lactose and should be tolerable for most users.
Whey protein is a natural and healthy way to bring protein into your diet and
increase well being.

Do you know what the Child Trust Fund is?Few UK parents surprisingly
insubstantial number of parents seem to know about the fact that all newborn children get a free £250 voucher from the government to place in a Child Trust Fund. The child’s vouchercan be invested in any one of threetypes of CTF account, Stakeholder - a shares-based account that swapsinto cash, a savings account or a shares account. It is a great opportunity to invest life of a youngster
Scottish Friendly is a designated provider of the Child Trust Fund Voucher. The Government is keen for the public at large to have access to Stakeholder accounts and this is the sort of account that we are providing. This means that:
• Investments are sent into our Managed Growth Fund, which hopes to provide good growth potential
• It invests in part in shares to make the most of potentially higher returns over 18 years, compared to a cash deposit account (although the value of shares cango down as well as go up whereas capital would be protected in a deposit account)
• It comes with a low ‘Stakeholder’ funds charge of only 1.5% per year
• At age 18 the young person will get a lump sum, totally free of Capital Gains and Income Tax under prevailing law
• It is very affordable - extra payments can be put in the account from as little as £10
A notable attraction of the Child Trust Fund is that anyone - parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends - can add to the Fund to a top limit of £1,200 per year to help increase the child’s Fund (once added, this money may not be withdrawn).
What this means is that our Stakeholder account offers a good balance between potentially high returns and a lower level of risk. There’s also the additional assurance that our account is in accordance with with the Government’s stakeholder criteria. Nevertheless this does not mean that returns are guaranteed or that Stakeholder accounts are suitable for everyone. Bear in mind that the value of shares in the Managed Growth Fund (where your Child Trust Fund money is invested) can go down as well as go up and isn’t guaranteed.
Only infants who were born on or after 1st September 2002 are permitted to open a Child Trust Fund. If you have older kids who are not entitled you could think about investing for them with a Child Bond - it’s a tax-free savings plan intended for long-term growth. It is evident that saving for a child is a sound means of preparing for the future.

Looking for quality nutritional supplements can seem quite overwhelming at times, especially if you’re just starting out. It is just as important to be sure you’re taking high quality supplements as it is to take the right supplements, because there’s no point in taking them if they don’t work. You may be tempted to buy a “store brand” or bargain nutritional supplement, but just as with anything else, be wary of trading quality for price.
One of the main criteria you want to look for in choosing the right supplement is making sure the potency of the nutrients is ensured. When the label says that there is a standardized
amount of a certain nutrient in the supplement, this means that the balance of herbs has been developed to make sure that each and every capsule contains the same amount of active ingredient. Depending on the herb in question, it is possible for say 10 milligrams of the standardized extract to be as potent or even more so than 100 or even 1000 milligrams of a cheaper version.
Another thing you want to check is whether or not the nutritional supplements contain natural or synthetic ingredients. While synthetics are of course less expensive, their natural counterparts are much more potent and effective, and have the added bonus of being more readily utilized by the body. Some people can even have reactions to the synthetic version of a nutrient who have never had a problem before, which can lead to problems in the future as well.
Whether or not the active ingredient in the supplement is sourced from organic materials is also very important. Nutritional studies have proven time and time again that there are more of
the key nutrients in organically grown fruits and vegetables than there are in mass produced, chemically treated ones, so it only makes sense that this benefit would be passed on or withheld
depending on the source of the ingredients. Also, full spectrum sourcing is vital to making sure that your supplement has all the nutrients you need, as key enzymes and ingredients can be lost in
an extraction process.
There are also some nutrients that work best when taken together with a complementary vitamin or mineral, and in the majority of cases, this can actually improve their effectiveness. A
perfect example is that of Vitamin D, which when taken together with a quality calcium supplement can both enhance the absorption rate and reduce the amount of calcium that is excreted in waste products. Of course, you will still get some benefit from calcium
supplementation alone, but for those to whom every bit of nutrition counts, a little homework is your best bet.
The most important reason to choose a high quality nutritional supplement is of course, safety. Unfortunately, since supplements and vitamins have become more popular with the general public, many bargain basement brands have popped up overnight with the claim that their product is just as good as the more expensive ones and much cheaper to boot. Be very wary of such claims! Remember, if a supplement is priced far below its competitors, they had to find some way to trim down the costs…are you willing to risk finding out what it was?
Mass produced nutritional supplements are often made in huge batches with equipment intended to churn out as much of the stuff as possible in the shortest amount of time, and often the quality of the supplement will suffer. Worse yet, there is the increased risk of contamination.
When choosing nutritional supplements, you must keep in mind that your very health is dependant on the decisions you make. While it might seem like a good idea to save a few dollars now, in the long run you might find yourself wishing that you had invested that extra little bit in the interest of quality. This is not to say that a less expensive nutritional supplement won’t give you
some benefit, but it might actually end up costing you more in the long run if you’re having to take multiple pills several times daily to get any kind of effect.
Take the time to find a high quality nutritional supplement from a reputable manufacturer…you’ll be glad you did!
