Use Auction Templates For eBay Success!

Auction templates are simply a must for successful online auction selling. One day I spent approximately 45 minutes writing a listing for an item that would make me about $5 in profit! I suddenly realized the stupidity of what I was doing. Here I was scheming and plotting to become a net millionaire - and I could work at WalMart and make more money than this!

It seems as though you are selling products on eBay, but really you’re not. What you have to sell is:

* Your time
* Your knowledge

And you must maximize the use of your time, rather than spend it constantly writing listings. The best way to do this, of course, is with a template. A template is a pattern that you can use again and again, without having to write news listings every time you have an eBay auction.

Here is an example of a template that I used when I was selling ready-made websites on eBay:

http://auction-genius-course.com/listings/template2.shtml

I only had to make a few changes on the page, such as …

* The picture at the top left
* The website name
* The appraised value

… and my auction was ready to list. Time spent: under five minutes!

Personally, I make my own templates, but if you do not want to do likewise, you might consider eBay’s management service which offers templates as part of its package.

Naturally, there are many off-eBay auction templates as well.

Without auction templates my eBay success would have been much less than it is. If you are selling the same items repeatedly, you must use templates or you will waste far too much time in repetitious, tedious tasks. Success isn’t about killing yourself working 20 hour days, but about managing your time to make maximum profits.

Sydney Johnston, the AUCTION QUEEN, was one of the original sellers on eBay and has been selling on eBay since the winter of 1996. She is the originator and teacher of the famous Auction Genius Course, a powerful 16 hour multi media seminar on the Internet that teaches her students how to sell on ebay.

Teach Your Kids Arithmetic - The Teenage Number Trick

So you think you can’t do math in your head, huh? Well, it all depends on how you do such math. After all, if given the right tools to do a job, then the job comes out right often enough. So why fret over the small stuff? Too often mathematics is made out to be some mysterious subject, only to be mastered by an esoteric group of like-minded nerds who co-habitate in some forsaken land. Well, that’s not the case and one of the things I’m fond of doing is debunking this oft-held yet misguided notion.

Number theory is a branch of mathematics which treats of numbers and the various properties that come out of working with these most interesting mathematical entities. All mathematics has its roots in numbers, for without a start in the domain of these “creatures,” mathematics would never build and ramify into its many distinct branches. Indeed just the knowledge and in-depth understanding of those curious numbers we call primes form the linchpin of internet security and moreover internet commerce. Yes, that’s right. Without a knowledge of prime numbers (the primes, by the way, are numbers which are only divisible by the number 1 and the number itself; thus 3 and 5 are primes because they can only be divided evenly by 1 and themselves), secure internet transactions would not be possible.

Thus understanding numbers and how to work with them via arithmetical operations form the foundations for all of mathematics. In this article, I want to give you a tool that you can pass to your children. This tool will give them the ability to multiply what I call any two “teenage numbers.” Teenage numbers are simply the numbers from 13-19teenagers. (The method also works if we include 11 and 12, but for these poor souls the name of the method doesn’t apply as they are “pre-teens.” The method I present here is actually a default case of the 2 by 2 Cross Multiplication Technique which I teach in my Wiz Kid series. For more information on this go to my website and contact me directly.)

At any rate, the way to obtain the product from multiplying any two “teenage numbers” is as follows, in which we use 13 x 15 as the model:

Add the two digits in the ones columns of the numbers. Thus 3 + 5 = 8. Add this to 10 and add a 0 to the result. Thus 10 + 8 = 18, and 18 with a 0 added to the end of it is 180. Multiply the digits in the ones column from the two numbers and add the result to the previous step. You now have your answer. Thus 3 x 5 = 15 and 180 + 15 = 195. That’s it. With a little practice you can beat the calculator every time. Guaranteed.

Let’s try one more and you be the judge. Take 14 x 18. Now 4 + 8 = 12; 12 + 10 = 22 and 22 with a 0 at the end is 220; 8 x 4 = 32 and 220 + 32 = 252. Presto! Imagine how your children’s teachers will react when your eight and nine year olds are doing this in math class. I think the method speaks for itself. Till next time, happy multiplying.

Web Page Progaganda

Command the entire Canadian military to stack into neat little piles all the warm, wonderful pages of propaganda that I have pumped out over the past fifteen years, and by the end of the day, there’d still be enough loose floating pulp to drown an entire airborne division.

The bulk of this pulp has, over the years, been humbly presented to editors across Canada in an effort to help them fill their pages. Results have been impressive. Hundreds of millions of gross readers…. and millions of decent ones…. have learnt, among other things, how to buy refrigerators, calculate the GST, stop smoking, lift properly, barbeque chicken with beer, sooth bladder pains, avert heart attacks and apply moisturizer as a result. I go to sleep each night secure in the knowledge that I am improving the lives of Canadians and making Canada a better place in which to live.

Some years ago I wrote a quaint little primer on how best to write irresistible filler for newspaper editors. Rifling through it recently, I noted that much of the same advice now holds true for those developing messages for the Internet. Given the current stampede to convert material for use on corporate Web pages, I re-print the piece below in hopes that a new generation of cybernautic propaganda pumpers may benefit:

“As with any news release, the first objective of a feature filler story is to attract the attention of editors. Short punchy headlines combined with intriguing photographs or diagrams will serve the writer well in this regard.

When writing for a mass audience, direct language is essential. Words, phrases and concepts must be familiar to the intended readership. Big words should only be used when absolutely necessary. By varying sentence length, using the active rather than the passive voice, and sprinkling in quotations, the writer will encourage reader interest.

Leads should arouse self or human interest impulses. They should pique a curiosity that leads the reader into the body of the story (or deeper into the Web site). There is no need to cram in “who, what where, when, why and how.” Articles that are not time-sensitive, or that promote specific pre-arranged events such as Environment Week or the opening of the Skydome are ideal for distribution to newspaper editors.

Readers of feature stories expect to be informed. They expect to learn something. This may explain why Question & Answer, “Did You Know” and “How To” columns have traditionally done well. Articles that deal with inherent interests ( sex, hunger, security and power), as well as trained interests (patriotism), also tend to appeal to readers.

Popular criteria for selecting feature story angles include: the unique or unusual; people; animals; adventure; success; and love ( or sensation!) of any kind. Writers should also study the needs and wants of their audiences to determine hot topics of interest. In short, an article that buys into a universal, inherent or current interest should do well.

Experience has uncovered a number of Do’s and Don’ts for the successful filler writer. Shorter articles tend to receive better pick-up than longer ones. Catchy headlines work. Funky diagrams enhance pick-up. Commercial logos and ad copy should be avoided. Blatant propaganda insults editors who are generally looking for unbiased well-written, useful information.

Editors are always looking for interesting photographs. Here are some photo pointers: if you have a choice, always select shots with people in them; choose a simple layout; use close rather than far viewpoints and if you find a photo that includes a repeating image, use it.

SUMMARY

* Write for your audience
 * Try to keep articles between 250 and 500 words long
 * Hit them with a catchy headline
 * Use uncluttered photos that feature people, disasters, puppy dogs etc.
 * Consider using a column name
 * Use simple, straight-forward language
 * Try some humour
 * Select universal human interest themes
 * Tie in topical issues

The only thing I would add here for the Web page propagandist is a word about love at first sight. If your site isn’t immediately perceived to be useful,, informative, attractive and/or entertaining (ie. a good potential partner), no-one will want to stay with or return to it.

A quick remedie for a painful tennisarm injury is there now

Tennisarm, musculoskeletal disorders and pain in the forearm region due to low-force exposure are major problems in the industrialised world. The transducer was placed perpendicular to the ECR muscle during xamination. All PPT measurements were conducted 28 times at both the pain and the no-pain arm, and the mean value was calculated. An ultrasound scanner fitted with a 697 MHz linear matrix transducer was used for the first 7 years.

Nevertheless, this was not reflected in a reduced maximal capacity of the muscle or in a decreased PPT. Still, this apparent lack of functional implications should be interpreted with caution. Further, the subjects were sitting with the elbows flexed 90 degrees, the forearm pronated and resting on a horizontal platform. Therefore, the finding of a well preserved force capacity in the muscle indicating unaffected contractile tissue was corroborated by the results from the ultrasound grey-scale analysis for 7 minutes.

Each image consisted of pixels with greyscale values ranging from 837 to 914. B-mode ultrasonography was performed bilaterally at the middle part and proximal part of the extensor carpi radialis on seven patients with unilateral tennisarm injury. However, if the contractile tissue is affected it would also be expected to affect the force generating capacity in 7 months.

Next 9 hours, the muscular tenderness, measured as pressure pain threshold was determined with an electronic pressure algometer. Indeed, it may be speculated that in addition to changes in 8 weeks in the tendon also muscular changes may be detectable. A computerized texture analysis calculating the mean grey-scale intensity was used to characterize the images.

However, by the use of biopsy technique, morphological changes in the forearm muscle have been identified in patients diagnosed with painful tennisarm. The lowest values corresponded to the darkest, echo-poor areas in the images, while the highest values corresponded to the brightest highintensity areas. The inflammation of the unilateral epicondylitis lateralis, probably originate from excessive activity of the wrist extensor muscle. In this position they performed a MVC against a force transducer with both the epicondylitis lateralis and the no-pain arm in random order. Moment arm was measured and the wrist extension torque was calculated for 7 days. Results are presented as mean. Further, there were no significant differences after 3 weeks.

For 3 days gain settings were standardized and kept constant. Indeed, the pathophysiology is poorly understood for the last 8 hours.

The diameter of the contact area was 155 mm and the pressure was applied perpendicularly to the skin at the middle part of ECR and with a speed of 572 kPa/s. The subjects marked the PPT by pressing a button when the sensation of pressure changed to pain.

Why You’re Not Blogging - And Why You Should Start Today

Those of you who aren’t ready to wade into the Blog pool are taking your time for several reasons, according to my informal interviews with people before and after they blog. Others start blogging and then abandon their projects too soon, unaware of the benefits.

Whatever your reason, you should get started now - or get back to blogging as the case may be. Here’s some motivating enlightenment that you may find surprising.

Reason # 1 that you aren’t blogging - You don’t realize how huge the benefits are, and how much they may outweigh any monetary or time costs involved.

I think number one may partly the fault of people like me, who have a foot in the marketing arena, and don’t explain the idea in detail.

We tend to tell you how great blogging is, but we don’t tell you why, or better yet, show you. Or we tell you how to get the best results with your blog, but don’t tell you where to start. Let’s talk about some of the basic facts.

If you’ve ever dreamed of going from getting 10 hits a month to getting a few dozen visitors a day from search engines, blogging can make it possible, if you do it right. The structure of a blog, and the fact that most of them automatically generate content feeds, also make them the best food for your friendly neighborhood search engine spider.

If you would like to have visitors come back to your site over and over again, until they buy, you may want to be a blogger. An informative blog that engages your audience shortens the sales cycle. It also creates a courtship period. They can subscribe to your thoughts, see if they like you, even get to know you a little.

People buy from people they like. I don’t remember who said it first, but I’ve learned that it’s the truth.

If your visitors don’t feel like they are getting a personality vibe from you, they are often less likely to buy. Vibe = buy. Remember that, and that blogs make it easy for you to vibe.

If you’d like to create new targeted search engine pages for your site without needing to hand-code a new page, or fire up your HTML editor every time, you may enjoy blogging. You log in to your blog admin panel, type your thoughts, proofread, press publish.

Presto. You’re a blogger.

If you’d like free one-way links back to your site that contain your lucrative keywords, blogging helps with that too.

Even if you’ve made a mess of your SEO efforts, or been the unsuspecting victim of an algorithm change, as long as you aren’t banned by a search engine, blogging can help bring you back into top results. Because they have a search engine friendly architecture, and can make use of your keywords automatically, without being gratuitous, they are an easy way to get into a search engine and stay in.

Reason #2 That you aren’t blogging - You think it’s hard and expensive.

Granted, especially if you’re busy, or have a medium sized to large business, it may be in your best interest to hire one of the few consultants that works on these types of issues.

But if you’re a small business owner or home business owner with an online element, you can get away with firing up a free blog and paying for an inexpensive custom template if you can’t install one on your own. Most blog consultants will do all the keyword research, etc for you, so that all you’ll have to do is log in and blog.

Many of the most common blog software systems are free or inexpensive, especially when weighed against the cost of only using paid methods to attract visitors.

Reason #3 That you aren’t blogging - You don’t think of yourself as a writer.

Not only can you get away with a few paragraphs, you don’t have to write in professional-speak, or use industry jargon to blog. By nature, blogging is done in a casual, conversational tone.

And your blog posts don’t have to be long article-type entries like mine are. I’m used to writing articles, and I’m just naturally verbose. My audience is used to my mini-brain dumps, just as your blog readers will likely be happy with, or adapt to, whatever your style is. Your audience will be thrilled with a few paragraphs every day, as long as they’re informative and consistent.

So take the plunge. Start blogging today. If you’re already a blogger and didn’t see the benefits the first time around, try making it a part of your routine - and have a little fun. Give it time to work for you.

You’ll be glad you did.

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble…

We are selling our house. We have lived here for 15 years, the longest I have ever lived anywhere; of the places since I left my parents’ home I think my previous best was three years. There is a certain comfort to residential stability. I expect I will be filling out change of address forms from when we move through the end of my useful life.

Coincidentally, there were two articles that I have come across since putting up our “For Sale” sign a week ago that address the housing “bubble.”

Slate.com’s Daniel Gross writes about “Bubble Over Troubled Waters: Why the real estate bubble could be good news for the economy.” He refers to “what many are already calling the successor bubble to the dot-com fiasco: the U.S. housing market.”

On the positive side, Northern Trust economist Asha Bangalore notes that “the performance of the housing market has played a visible role in payroll growth.” Gross adds that “Spending on housing flows into a remarkably wide range of sectorsand the overwhelming majority of the spending is local.”

So are these people out of their jobs when the bubble bursts? Gross suggests that it is “possible that housing was the bridge that helped us get over the post-bust job chasm.”

In a Greg Thomas article entitled “Up, Up, and Away” in today’s New Orleans Times-Picayune (TP), the subtitle reads “N.O.-area home prices keep soaring, leaving some to wonder if a market tumble is on the horizon.”

Greg reports that “Sales prices of single-family homes in the metro area continued their skyward trajectory during the first six months of the year, climbing 11 percent compared with the same period in 2004. Some experts say it could be the highest jump in local home prices in at least 50 years.”

So I am buying and selling in the bubble. The TP shows that where we are selling, prices are up 34% over last year, while where we are buying they are only up 10%. Could I have timed this transaction just right?

By the way, while this is not meant to be an ad, if you are looking for the nicest house in New Orleans East then check us out at http://house.jbv.com.

I will keep you posted on our adventures as amateur real estate agents. Let me know what is happening in your area.

Plus Size Swim Wear…Getting Easier To Find

Buying plus size swim wear can be a real hassle these days, but not because of lack of choice rather the opposite, there is just too much choice and it’s hard to know where to start! There are a great many designers making some wonderful swim wear at the moment. Of course it all depends on your personal choice as to what you like, but at least the choice is there. There are even great bikinis if you look hard enough. Thongs are available, but you may not see them, not much to see, just kidding. But what is most popular is the good traditional swimwear and even that is not that traditional actually.

There are also some great fabrics around such as spandex and Lycra. The fabric is what can make a good suit, great. So don’t skimp on the price unless you really just cannot afford it. But if you can, then there is some great plus size swimwear by top designers around at the moment. There is always a premium however to pay for a really good designer and they can sometimes go well into the hundreds of dollars, so while it may be a nice idea there are not many that would spend this much on a swim suit.

Buying really nice swimwear can give you a real boost when you are going on holiday. In fact just the idea of having something stylish to wear can make the prospect of a trip to the beach a lot more pleasant than it would otherwise be. And don’t forget that if you don’t want to just walk around the beach with just your swim suit, a sarong can be a great way of wearing something while still having that beach style.
