Palm trees, scientifically known as Arecaceae or Palmae, are

majority of which are native to tropical or subtropical
climates. Some well-known trees that belong to this group
include coconut trees, rattan trees, and date palm trees.
Uses of palm trees
Palm trees have many uses. Palm tree sap is sometimes fermented
in order to produce palm wine, or palm toddy. To make palm wine
from the sap of palm trees, the sap is first collected by
cutting between the tree kernels. A container is placed below
the cut to collect the sap, a process that takes one or two
days. The sap begins fermenting immediately and creates a wine
within two hours. If the palm sap is allowed to sit too long,
however, it turns into vinegar.
Heart of palm is also derived from several species of palm
trees. Heart of palm is also referred to as swamp cabbage, palm

“Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it” (Genesis 28:16).
How easy it is to forget that God is in this place, right where we are, especially if we are discontented where we are. The Almighty God can be found in the most illogical places. Why not, for He is omnipresent. When we least feel His presence, that is when He is most likely to be with us. Even Jesus thought His Father had deserted Him and cried out, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34, Psalm 22:1). The Son was eclipsed by the overwhelming evil, only to shine brightest after earth’s darkest hour!
Who has not exclaimed, “My God, My God, where are you?” in the anguish of a dark hour of loss and hopelessness? But it was at that very agonizing moment that Jesus fulfilled His mission and, in our least likely and most hurting moments, we may be crying out to our Father who is already there and is covering our ruptured hearts with His healing promise of wholeness once again. O! let us claim and believe in our most doubting moments His greatness and His love and, above all, His presence.
As we look back over the critical junctures of our lives, we see that it was then that our priorities were rearranged and the results, we hope, became God’s will for us. But we can hardly be expected to appreciate the fire that is burning off the dross or the dent in our shoulder from struggling with our cross until we see the finished product. But, as we review our life, we realize that the heavier part of the cross was carried by Jesus and our burden was and is made lighter because of His love.
Yes, the Lord is in this place of anger turned to kindness, pride turned to humility, bitterness turned to gentleness, gossip turned to intercession, doubt turned to trust, ingratitude turned to acknowledgment, and malice turned to love. May we practice the presence of our God who loves and cares, no matter where we are and no matter what the overwhelming circumstances are, for they can never overwhelm our God.

The marketplace is swarming with topics on time management and few include personality types, which amazes me, since our personalities play a large role in time management. For example, we have disabilities, spontaneous, and so-called normal individuals, so how can one article tell us how to manage our time? Extensively I studied human behaviors and learned that all of us are different in more ways than science or researchers can explain.
None of us has all the answers, but some of us can lead you on a path to time management if the right words fall into place. In addition, if we have an idea of what type of person we are, then we are well on our way to finding the solution for managing time. Time is complicated, since the bible shows us that one day to God is a thousand years. Moreover, man has his own ideas of time. So therefore, when time is used, we must ask ourselves, “Is it used wisely.” We can start by looking at our personality to determine which plan works better for us in managing time.
Personalities:
From beginning of time we all were created with our own personality type, and some of us went astray with the misguidance of researchers, experts, and so on. The basic rules were laid out however, when experts, philosophers and researchers set out to determine what types of persons make up the world. Taking for example the spontaneous personality type, we can see it differs from the neatly type.
The spontaneous types often are unorganized, and fail to plan. Spontaneous individuals have an advantage since the focus on one day at a time vs. living each day on a schedule. The disadvantage is that the spontaneous individuals suffer throughout their life, since a time management plan is not in view. In order to cultivate a neatly individual, you would need to work with the personality type, by allowing them to act as themselves, but manipulating a neatly view in the plan. Spontaneous individuals require the need to be free and loose. So therefore there desks are most likely going to be free and loose: papers flying everywhere.
To put a spontaneous individual in order, is allowing the person to work multi-tasking projects, which often benefit these types the best. If the person is multi-tasking, he or she is putting time management in focus. Still, the focus is there, but the plans are not in action, so therefore it pays to stay focus of your own individuality to find out what works best for your personality type. There is no single plan for these types of individuals that work the best. The neatly types have very little problem in time management, yet they have problems in other areas. Some of us may see them as perfectionist, but in fact, the neatly types are compensating. Regardless each personality type has its own individuality and learning your personality is the open door to a successful time management plan.

Most people think they can make a New Years Resolution as the
clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve and their life will
magically change. Feeling intoxicated with the uplifting holiday
spirits, resolutions roll off our tongues.
Yet, if you want to increase your personal power and escape the
ranks of victim-hood through making and keeping New Years
Resolutions, you need more than good intentions.
You need to leave behind forever your woe-is-me history of New
Years Resolutions and begin a new history. One in which you
keep resolutions in July.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could accomplish your health New
Years Resolution or your fitness New Years Resolution? Life
would be dramatically different forever.
Disclaimer: Let’s make keeping resolutions in July as fun
and light-hearted as possible. Having escaped mom’s womb with a
crop of grey hair, I know all too well the serious side of life
inside out, and outside in.
In fact, I think it wise to include at least one humorous
New Years Resolution each year. You’re guaranteed a good laugh
and it might change forever your history of New Years
Resolutions.
I’ve discovered that I can still be exceptionally committed to
something while not taking myself too seriously. I encourage you
to consider doing the same.
Making New Years Resolutions is a tad like eating apple
pie, grits, or tacos: each is done quickly, often impulsively,
with expectations of satisfaction.
However, unless the baker bakes soggy, yucky, tasteless apples,
or the cook burns the grits, or prepares tacos with moldy beans,
many more people enjoy the results they get from eating pies,
grits or tacos than making resolutions.
Making resolutions is easy; keeping resolutions six
months later and beyond more difficult and challenging.
It’s been estimated that a mere 20% of us find the strength to
exercise more, eat healthier foods, give up or reduce smoking,
or change other behaviors.
It seems as though our great intentions to keep our top ten New
Years Resolutions fail. Maybe if we only made funny New Years
Resolutions we’d have greater success.
How sad so few of us keep our commitments to ourselves.
How sad so many of us give up and quit, making our commitments
to ourselves meaningless. When this happens over and
over, we lose face with ourselves.
Our self-esteem plummets, and we have an increasingly more
difficult time believing ourselves. We start believing our only
history of New Years Resolutions will be a painful and
disappointing one.
But there is hope. With some changes in our angles of
vision, we can remedy this. We can change our history of New
Years Resolutions and create a new history.
Remember: our history of New Years Resolutions is just that. A
history. We can always create a new history of New Years
Resolutions, one that brings great joy to our hearts.
How a New Year’s Resolution I Made in 1983 and Have
Kept to This Day Has Slowly, Painfully, Persistently Transformed
Me from the King of Self- Destruction to the Prince of Recovery
and Now The Apprentice of Joy
Flash back to New Years Day, 1983, Phoenix, AZ. Sharing
an apartment with Virginia, a woman who wanted a brother-sister
relationship, while I craved sex.
Hung over, groggy, feeling like shit, I dialed mom, requesting a
loan for a new business. (I’m great at starting them, I suck at
maintaining them).
She agreed with one condition: I needed to promise her
I’d never use drugs again.
Stunned, surprised, uncertain what to do, I remembered I had
recently driven her to the San Francisco Airport, smoking a
joint and extolling dope’s virtues: marijuana, mescaline, acid,
hashish, and amphetamines were close cousins (in fact, much
closer than my blood relations).
Daily I’d roll out of bed and before my feet hit the floor, I’d
be inhaling a joint. Could I possibly ever live without
drugs?
I told mom I’d get back to her with my decision.
On that New Years day so long ago, I began looking at my life,
how I was living, the results I was getting, and how much love
surrounded me.
It was a pretty bleak picture when I faced it honestly, looked
at it squarely, and didn’t run away from those truths and the
reality of my life.
I dialed her number, hands trembling slightly.
“Mom, I promise never to use marijuana or any other drugs
the rest of my life.”
That promise was the beginning of transforming my history of New
Years Resolutions. I now have a much brighter picture than I did
in 1983.
Flash Forward. As of November 2005, I’ve been drug-free
these twenty-two years. I also stopped consuming alcohol in
November 1983, as well as giving up gambling and seven years
later, bulimia.
I had a strong commitment, i.e., the promise to my mom. Could it
be that people who quit their resolutions don’t really have as
strong a commitment as is needed to succeed?
Or could it be that it takes more than a strong commitment
if emotional wounds from the past haven’t been healed?

What is avian influenza?
Avian influenza is used to describe all of the influenza
viruses that can infect birds - this includes both wild birds
such as ducks and domestic birds such as chickens. It now
appears that birds are a natural reservoir of flu viruses - to
date 15 strains of influenza A virus are known to exist in bird
populations.
Many forms of the avian influenza virus cause only very mild
symptoms in birds, or no symptoms at all. However, some strains
of the influenza A virus can produce a highly contagious and
rapidly fatal disease. These very virulent strains of the virus
are known as “highly pathogenic avian influenza”. It’s these
viruses that cause particular concern. One such avian influenza
virus is currently infecting chickens in the Asian region, this
particular strain is known as H5N1.
Should the H5N1 strain adapt and spread via humans we could very
quickly be in a worldwide pandemic. This is because currently
humans do not have a natural immunity or protection from this
strain of avian influenza.
In history there have been several outbreaks of bird flu viruses
which have been controlled by quarantining or destroying
thousands of birds to stem the spread of the virus between
countries.
Bird avian influenza symptoms
Infected birds shed flu virus in their saliva, nasal secretions,
and feces. Susceptible birds become infected when they have
contact with contaminated excretions or surfaces that are
contaminated with excretions.
Symptoms in birds show themselves as some or all of the
following; a decrease in bird activity (lethargy), a drop in egg
production, a swelling of the head, breathing problems,
diarrhoea, muscle paralysis and sudden death.
Human avian influenza symptoms
In humans, avian influenza shows itself as similar symptoms to
other types of influenza, such as fever, sore throat, cough,
headache, lethargy, muscle ache, and conjunctivitis. Cases of
bird flu are more likely to cause breathing problems and
pneumonia that may be fatal.
The state of the infected person’s immune system will also play
a major part in the severity of the infection.

One of the least expensive and yet enjoyable gifts left for guests at a wedding are edible wedding favors. Dealing with an Overheated Radiator
Overheating is one of the most common breakdowns that autos
encounter during the summer season. It happens when the
temperature of the coolant exceeds the normal operating
temperature range of the engine. Overheating has many causes.
Idling under hot weather for prolonged periods can wreak havoc
on the cars cooling system, because the water pump doesn’t turn
fast enough. Thus the coolant is not circulated, as it should
be. Sometimes a leak may cause the coolant level to drop thus
causing the radiator to overheat. Here are a few pointers for
dealing with an overheated radiator:
1.Turn off the A/C. If the car is not seriously overheating,
this will reduce the engine’s temperature. The AC evaporator is
located in front of the radiator, and it adds heat to the air
going to your engine. The hotter the incoming air is, the less
efficient the radiator will be.
2.Turn on your heater (set on highest temperature setting, with
blower on highest setting). This will be uncomfortable for you,
but it will cool the engine by transferring the heat to the air.
Roll down the windows, and remember how ‘hot’ you’ll get if your
engine needs replacement!
3.If you’re stuck in traffic, pull over and stop. Unless you’re
moving, very little cool air reaches the radiator. Open the hood
and let the engine cool off. This takes time, so be patient. Use
the time to go get a jug of water or antifreeze.
4.Check the overflow tank coolant level. If it’s empty, the
radiator is probably low on coolant.
5.Check the pressure of the system by wrapping a cloth around
the upper radiator hose and squeezing it. If it’s still under
pressure (hot) it will not squeeze easily. Wait until it does.
6.Place a large cloth over the radiator cap, and carefully
release the pressure. Serious burns can result from the hot
coolant. If in doubt, wait until the engine cools completely.
7.If the coolant is low, start the engine, and slowly add the
water or coolant necessary to fill it up. The engine must be
running. Adding coolant to a warm engine can crack the block. By
running the engine, the coolant keeps moving and reduces the
chances of this type of damage occurring.

dissipate the heat, which the coolant has absorbed from the
engine. However, like all auto parts, radiators are prone to
